He secured the title of “Strongest Man in Iceland” twice, in 2018 and 2019, and won “Iceland’s Strongest Viking” in 2021. Notably, he has been a seven-time podium finisher in the “Iceland’s Strongest Man” competition, earning four second-place and three third-place finishes. Internationally, Gunnarsson represented Iceland in the World’s Strongest Man competitions in 2016 and 2017, placing third in his qualifying groups.
