Active in strongman from 2004 to 2010, Dave Ostlund reached the finals of the World’s Strongest Man three times, finishing 6th in 2006, 7th in 2008, and 10th in 2009. He set a personal best log press of 181 kg (400 lbs) at the 2008 America’s Strongest Man, where he placed 2nd overall. Ostlund deadlifted 362.5 kg (800 lbs) at the 2007 Arnold Strongman Classic. He was particularly known for his strength in the atlas stones, often placing among the top competitors in that event at major contests.
