Active in strongman from 2003 to 2007, Dominic Filiou was a prominent competitor on the international stage. He finished 3rd at the 2005 World’s Strongest Man, becoming the first Canadian to reach the podium since Tom Magee in 1982, and placed 11th at WSM 2006. Filiou won Canada’s Strongest Man in 2007 and was known for his prowess in the Atlas Stones event. His personal bests include a 400 kg deadlift at the 2005 WSM qualifiers.
