Phil Pfister competed in professional strongman events from 1998 to 2008. He won the 2006 World’s Strongest Man, becoming the first American to do so since 1982, and placed 4th in both the 2001 and 2007 WSM finals. Pfister deadlifted 365 kg (805 lbs) at the 2006 Arnold Strongman Classic and pressed a 163 kg (360 lbs) log at the 2007 WSM. He was particularly known for his strength in the Fingal’s Fingers and Atlas Stones events.
