Ivan Makarov has competed professionally in strongman since 2017. He finished 10th at the 2020 World’s Strongest Man and 11th in 2021. Makarov deadlifted 475 kg at the 2021 World Deadlift Championships and has attempted the all-time deadlift world record multiple times, narrowly missing 505 kg in 2020. He is known for his specialty in max deadlift events and won the 2021 Siberian Power Show.
